Janna Bock Illustrations: More background!

Janna Bock: Hello! I am currently a freelance illustrator living in Southern California. However, I miss working with other artists and think I will improve even faster if I worked with a team. So I'm looking for an opportunity that suits my artistic pursuits. I admire many artists working in animation and think their influences are reflected in my work. Observation from life and life experiences is a must so I always carry a sketchbook with me. And while different styles are fun to look at I try to remember what this guy Harold Speed (Speed is a cool last name) said; "...originality is a quality over which an artist has as little influence as over the shape and distinction of his features. All he can do is be sincere and try to find out what really moves him. If he has a strong and original character, he will have no difficulty, and his work will be original in the true sense". The Fundamentals are the rock within any successful piece I create, so I try to stick to those; story, composition, value, contrast vs. affinity, and I can't mess up too much. This concludes mental meanderings with Janna Bock.
